Thank you all for your support of the 2008 Chelsea Festival, a record breaking year in many ways:
22% increase at the box office on 2007
22 sold-out events including all children's and family events
9 premieres
From comments coming into the Festival office highlights have ranged from David Gilmour's epic contribution to the re-creation of Pink Floyd's Atom Heart Mother to the Festival's 'royal' event at the Royal Hospital, The Glory of Venice, as well as Sandi Toksvig's sold out performance at St Columba's and the latest stunning addition to the Confluences canon by Vikram Seth and Alec Roth at Holy Trinity Church. There were many many other highlights aside...
The next scheduled change to this website will be when the 2009 Chelsea Festival programme is announced early in 2009, but do keep a look out for occasional other events and also check out the Friends page. We urge anyone who has attended Chelsea Festival events to join the Friends of the organization. Priority booking is increasingly becoming a valuable benefit, but in addition your support enables us to develop the work and quality of the Festival at a time when the festival is as subject to financial pressures as any other organization/business in the country.
To potential sponsors we make the same play: the Chelsea Festival is growing fast and is increasingly attracting large audiences to its concerts. Do please supporting the Chelsea Festival.
